You have the whole month of January to complete this challenge. Once you do, just post a screenshot and photo of your result here in the comments. This is the first time we've opened this to the public so you could be our first-ever World Champion!
The Geometry Challenge is a navigation-intensive exercise. Success depends on your skill, creativity, dedicated preparation, attention to detail, and performance. Results will be judged by peers in our community. We've learned a lot from doing this type of challenge ourselves and we anticipate seeing some creativity energy from all of you.
The Guidelines
"Draw" each shape by tracking yourself with GPS
Each submitted shape must be created by a single continuous effort
The shapes are closed so you finish where you start
Do not use GPS to help you, only use GPS to record
All other preparations, paper maps, and aids are allowed
Use a magnetic compass

And while you are working on that, we'll be busy with The Great OWL, our 12-hour Adventure Race. If you haven't signed up yet, don't hesitate. Early registration rate ends January 31. After completing the Geometry Challenge and with a little New Year physical training, your team will be ready for some fun crushing our course on March 16. And don't forget to help us spread the word by inviting others.
I hope your Geometry plans are shaping up. Probably doing some training in parallel with this challenge.
